Exploring the Frank Church Wilderness Wasteland

Over the weekend we went camping at Beaver Creek Campground near Stanley, Idaho. It is just outside of the Frank Church River of No Return wilderness area.

Due to its status as a protected wilderness area and the strict government restrictions that come with that status, it has become more of a wasteland than the wilderness area it used to be.

Recently a wildfire burned out of control without any attempt to extinguish it.

Combined with the devastation of the pine beetle's toll on the forest, it has become more of a desolate wasteland than a protected wilderness area.

The deer, elk, moose, bears and other wildlife that used to thrive there are now completely absent.

Here is a video I took as we drove up to Josephus Lake using my GoPro Karma Grip. It shows the wasteland that was once a beautiful forest.

You will find drone videos of the area as well in my previous videos.

I hope you enjoy the video and feel free to comment below.
