Introducing Shield 5(TM)

Today I want to introduce my new project titled "Shield 5(TM)".

It is a concept that I hope will not only reduce negative conflicts that occur between Police officers and civilians. I also hope that it will bring awareness to citizens who are not aware of their 5th amendment right mentioned in the constitution.

What is Shield 5™ protection?

Before I go into much detail I will attempt to explain why we need "Shield 5(TM)"

We live in a society today where most of its citizens are not aware of their rights given to them by their creator and listed in the United States Constitution.

We also have in this society where many law enforcement officers do not know their limits given to them in the Constitution or the rights of the citizen he/she is encounters while on duty.

It seems like we are seeing more and more negative confrontations between citizens and law enforcement officers on a daily basis. Some of these end in violence and sometimes even result in the loss of life.

Tragically all of these can be prevented with a little education on the 5th amendment of the constitution as well as education on the limits given to Law enforcement officials in the same document.

If an officer approaches you on a traffic stop or any other routine stop, the 5th amendment gives you the freedom to refuse to answer any questions that can (and will) incriminate you in any way. In fact police officers know this well which is why you hear them read a suspect his/her rights while putting them under arrest.

Unfortunately, usually by the time you are being placed into custody, you have already waived your 5th amendment right by even speaking to the officer.

Please don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against police officers or any other type of law enforcement officers. I hold them all in utmost respect. However, I do know my rights as a U.S. citizen and one of those rights is “The right to remain silent” or the right to not become a witness against myself with through my words or actions.

Example Miranda warning.

I also know I have the right to have an attorney present during questioning.
Shield 5™ is a project that is designed to help reduce these negative police confrontations by displaying a sticker within plain view of the approaching officer that the citizen(s) within the vehicle are aware of these rights and will not answer questions without an attorney present.

I want to be completely clear that I am not saying you need to be rude and not acknowledge the officer and disrespecting the officer by ignoring them completely and not uttering a word. Yes, we do have that right. Every citizen has the right to be rude to someone else but it would be much better to respond to the officer and respectfully decline to answer their questions without your attorney. The more politely you decline their questions, the better the stop will go for everyone involved.

Some states don’t require you to identify yourself when approached by an officer. However, during a traffic stop you are required to produce a copy of your driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance. Some people think they are not required but most if not all states require a valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle.

Please don’t try to argue with an officer that is only trying to do his job. Ask any lawyer. If by chance I am wrong, it is still best practice to remain safe than to end up sorry.

When an officer approaches a vehicle protected by “Shield 5™”, he/she becomes immediately aware that the citizen(s) within the vehicle are aware of their 5th amendment rights declared in the constitution.

We are currently working on a curtain that can be drawn across your window not only displaying a polite message to the police officer but it will also display your license, registration and insurance through the closed window.

The officer has everything he/she needs to do their job and you have not said a word to them. Nor are you required to. Any disputes should be taken up with a judge in court with an attorney present. There is no need to try to argue guilt or innocence to a police officer who is only trying to do his or her job.

Shield 5™ is intended to decrease these negative confrontations between police officers and the citizens they are supposed to serve and protect by reminding the citizen and officer of the rights given to us within the constitution.

Contact me if you would like to pre-order your printed stickers today and get one for each window of your car or if you have any questions about any other products we are currently developing.
